Abstract
The virtual structure of the Sixtine Chapel vault by Michelangelo Buonarroti F. Escrig Prof, of School of Architecture ofSevilla, Avda. Reina Mercedes, 2. Email: felix@arqui4. us. es Summary This text concers with the architectonical contents of the painted ceiling of the Sixtine Chapel. Michelangelo so early as 1505 proposed revolutionary solu- tions that changed the architecture for the future and opened the doors to the Baroque style. The continuous cylindrical vault was decorated in such way that all the contradictions contained in the architecture till XX century were already declared. In summary the painted architecture has the same importance as the Biblical scenes. Figure 1. Ideal reconstruction of the building of Sixtine Chapel as it was at first Figure 2.
