Abstract
The authors have tested the work of a two-stage air dust separator by means of the laser gauge of the grain of dust. The first stage consists of an axial cyclone and the second one features bag-type dust separator. The separator has little size and it is able to work in difficult conditions. This means that it can be used for shipboard ventilation and air conditioning. The axial cyclon has the inclination angle of the blades selected so that the centrifugal forces could act even on the smallest dust particles. The trace concentration of the smallest dust particles is caught by means of the fabric filters which can not get stopped because the special shaking mechanism is used. There is a laser gauge to measure the grain of the dust at the outlet of the dust.
