Abstract
The application of the sound intensity technique in the article presents the spatial distribution of acoustic energy flow over flat barriers. The tests concern the intensity vectors distribution and acoustic scattering by shielded obstacles of the real near and far fields in an axis of a symmetry of flat barriers. The excitation acoustic signal was a stationary broad band signal - pink noise, coming from loudspeakers installed before the obstacles. The measurements obtained using an intensity technique show how much a theoretical image of an acoustic field distribution differs from the distributions obtained through the measurements in real conditions. A properly used intensity method ensures a chance of vector distribution in any area of restricted space, even within a near field and in the small enclosures within a ship. At the same time it
