Abstract
Stability control of a ship in service Zbigniew Szozda Maritime University in Szczecin 7/2, 7 Summary The paper presents operational point of view of ship's stability control before departure. The need of development of stability control methods is expressed. The system supporting the master while making decisions concerning stability safety is proposed. The support is performed by supply a short range forecast on seakeeping ability of the vessel. The system consists of three components: Operational Inclining System; Loading Instrument; Ship Motion Simulator. The task of the system is to give the information concerning ship's safety due to current navigational situation. It is suggested that the use of the system will contribute to amend the stability safety of the vessel during service. 1.
