Abstract
The building called Palazzo Papale (XIV-XV century), part of the Franciscan Sacro Convento di Assisi, shows many cracks, mainly vertical, both on the masonry structure and on the internal walls. One of these old cracks in the Sala Papale, at the higher level of the building, has been reactivated by a small seismic event (Ml = 3.4 and epicenter = 15 Km far) on June 5-th 1993. Since the magnitude of the event does not explain the damage and the building is important, more detailed analyses have been required.
