Abstract
Stability of a coal longwall I. Mizgala, M. Zacharski Mining Mechanization Centre, Pszczynska 37, G/Wce, Summary Numerical methods of applied mechanics have been used at first for the modeling structures with precisely described properties. The application of available solutions in mining practice meets difficulties connected with the mutability of properties. Building a numerical model of the enviroment of a combined cutter loader it was neccesary to use the relations which have been established as result of experiments. 1. Introduction In deep mines of the Upper Silesian coal basin the dynamical phenomena of nonperiodical behavior, with different intensities of energy have been observed. Primary observations described them as an impulsive multiplication of loading, acting upon the lining, pressing together the excavation [ 1 ]. These phenomena have been observed for over fifty years with increased intensity connected with the growing depth of exploitat
