Abstract
Two problems of structural optimization are considered in the paper. The first one is concerned with the minimization of a weight of a structure with the constraints on the global structural rigidity. The optimization variables are represented by the thickness parameters of elements, and the optimization constraints deal directly with the displacements. The second problem is concerned with the minimization of a scalar stress function representing the von Mises stress criterion. The optimization constraints are imposed only on the displacements. These two problems are considered separately and then the application of multicriteria method is presented. Two scalar objective functions for minimization of weight and stresses are formul
