Abstract
Applications of subregion boundary element technology in internal combustion engine Y. Qian, J. Xiao & R. Lu Department of Power Engineering, Wuhan University of Water Transportation Engineering, ABSTRACT Some results achieved by the authors in application of the subregion boundary element technology (SBET) to the field of the internal combustion engine (ICE) are introduced in this paper , including the results of heat transfer analysis and thermal stress analysis of the cylinder heads and pistons of ICEs. The results are applied in the structure optimization of the components of ICEs. SBET developed by the authors is emphasized in the article. First , the equations of the subregion boundary element method for the situation including more than one arbitrarily — combined subregions are derived. Sec- ond , the numbering scheme for the subregions , side lines and nodes , and the data structure of the subregion information for the whole do- main equation are proposed and realized. INTROD
