Abstract

Integrated model for predicting the inservice structural conditions of highway pavements A.A. Sha'at", N.S. Mattel ABSTRACT This paper describes the on-going research project to develop a pavement maintenance management system based on the finite element program DEFPAV and road non- destructive testing machines. The program is designed to solve problems of axisymmetrical stress distributions in layered systems. DEFPAV is capable of modifying deformation characteristics in accordance with the stress within elements of layers with non-linear behaviour. In order to gain more confidence in the theoretical model DEFPAV before applying it to field measurements, the authors have carried out a verification exercise of structural response calculations. The first investigation was to compare the results obtained by the automatic mesh generation version of DEFPAV with the results obtained from TEXGAP-3D ( A gene
