Abstract
In the analysis of inverse problems in various fields, it seems that a priori assumptions for the solution are required. This requirement causes many contradictions on the analysis. We have developed a new analysis method called the discrete integral method utilizing the delta function. A new solving scheme for the inverse problem is constructed using this method, combined with the boundary element method. The new scheme is applied to the two dimensional inverse problem, namely, the problem on identification of heat source applied on a plane. Through several examples of distributed heat sources, as well as concentrated ones, it is proved that the present scheme will give sufficiently accurate identified solutions without any assumptions.
