Abstract
A Boundary Element Method for the solution of three-dimensional prob- lems of coupled quasi-static anisotropic thermoelasticity is developed. The present formulation employs the fundamental solutions of the uncoupled elliptic operators of anisotropic elastostatics and stationary heat transfer, hence, the terms containing the dynamic effects and the coupling appear under the domain integral in the representation formula. This domain inte- gral is transformed to the boundary by the Dual Reciprocity Method. By using decoupled fundamental and particular solutions, it is achieved that the resulting damping and stiffness matrix possess the same structure as in Finite Element analysis. For the time integration, a backward Euler scheme is employed, and the results obtained with the
