Abstract
We apply a modified boundary integral procedure known as the Green element method (GEM) to study linear and nonlinear coupled unsteady transport problems, and hence demonstrate the ease with which the boundary integral theory can be applied to such problems. Apart from ascertaining the efficiency of the technique in dealing with the time domain, the line integral resulting from problem discretization is handled analytically as they are free from singularities. Numerical results are presented for some representative examples, and for all of these, encouraging results are obtained. 1. Introduction Coupled equations do arise from interactions of two or more linear or nonlinear systems. Several examples of such systems are quite common in engineering applications.
