Abstract
This work presents a time-dependent 2-D BEM formulation, which employs a fundamental solution that corresponds to a constant concentrated source applied at time T and kept constant from this time onwards. Another aspect to be mentioned is related to the behaviour assumed for the potential and its normal derivative: both are assumed to have linear variation in time and space. As a final remark, the time-stepping procedure employs the so-called linear 9-method, in which a different last time interval 8 At, 9 > 1.0, is adopted, and then the answer at time tn+i is computed from the response obtained at time tn+e- In order to validate the formulation, a classical example is presented and the numerical results di
