Abstract
A dual boundary element formulation has been applied to 3-D internal acoustic problems. The model has been tested on the problem of exhaust system with a single barrier. The results have been compared with the results obtained using BEASY commercial code, when the problem was solved in two different ways: by dividing the domain into two zones and by representing the thin barrier as a thin body of finite thickness. The model showed some agreement with the results obtained using BEASY with a finite thickness barrier, but it converged towards the model which was obtained using BEASY with two zones. 1 Introduction Boundary integral equations (BIE) and the boundary element method (BEM) for their solut
