Abstract
A new method of computation of Boundary Element matrices for acoustic radia- tion problems has been developed. The method utilizes Chebyshev polynomials for separation of the frequency from space variables in the free-space Green's func- tion. The BEM matrices resulting from discretization of the Helmholtz equation are static and can be synthesized for each required frequency using an analytical formula. Significant savings in computer time have been achieved. 1 Introduction The radiation and scattering of sound waves is a vital part of many en- gineering problems such as fluid-structure interactions, acoustic radiation, earthquake and vibrating foundation problems.
