Abstract
This work deals with formulations of the boundary element method applied to plate resting on elastic three-dimensional infinite half space domains. The classical KirchhofT hypothesis is used to write the plate bending integral equation of displacements. This integral representation has been modified to include an extra domain integral that takes into account the sub-grade reaction, which is treated by three different procedures: domain sub-division into cells; using the dual reciprocity method; and using an alternative procedure also based on global functions. The algebraic relations are written for singular and non singular collocations conveniently selected to take only representations of deflections. In order to achieve the integral equations of the three-dimensional sol
