Abstract
In this study computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling has been used, to assist the design of a combustion off-gases recuperator series, operating in the range of 600-800 °C. The results of the modelling are validated against experimental data measured in a full scale laboratory facility. The CFD model makes use of an unstructured grid, which allows to capture the flow details around the heat transfer surfaces, thus improving the accuracy of heat transfer rates calculation. The unstructured grid is automatically adapted against temperature and velocity gradients to furth
