Abstract
In this paper a correlation between the theoretical (FEM Analysis) and experimental mechanical behaviour of a new accelerometer optical head is presented. The dynamic response in the frequency range of interest has been studied. The development of accelerometers based on optical technology could have an interesting application because this kind of accelerometer is capable of working in environments which have high magnetic fields. The accelerometer is a device based on the theory of the seismic mass transducer (SMT). The design of this opti
