Abstract
In this work a simple mathematical model for diffusion and dissolution in a reactive porous medium is presented. Due to the non local- ized reaction zones, a kinetic law of dissolution is used. The case of lime and lead in solid phase enclosed in cement matrices is considered more specif- ically. Numerical results are discussed and are compared to experimental data. Introduction This work originates from an attempt to model from mathematical and numerical points of view, the leaching of metalic ions from cement matri- ces used for waste solidification and waste storage. During the transport process, the main underlying
