Abstract
The paper intends to present a computer programme developed to assess the mechanical behaviour of masonry structures. The incremental step by step procedure allows to run a series of elastic F.E. analyses, using a multipurpose software, which differ one from the other by the mechanical characteristics of the single finite elements. The fact that the masonry conforms to non associative rule is taken into account by running a double check of the stress state with respect to two different failure domains, one defined in the principal stresses plain, the other of Mohr-Coulomb type.
