Abstract
The flow velocimetry based on image analysis has reached a rapid spread within the last few years following hardware and software development in image acquisition and analysis. Starting from a classical configuration a large number of experimental setup have been proposed in order to increase the reliability of the measurements and make this technique suitable for the analysis of complex flow in industrial environment. For this purpose some new solutions have been recently proposed: • high resolution video camera for image acquisition • pulse laser in order to increase the energy of each pulse • colour PIV for solving ambiguity in flow direction and increasing the dynamic range of the measurement. 1 Introduction The optical methods (LDA and PIV) would appear to be at present the most promising t
