Abstract
The coupling of two dual finite element formulations with two boundary integral formulations for the calculation of electromagnetic field is presented. Whitney 3D and 2D elements are used, respectively, for the finite element and boundary element discretisations. The coupling of FEM and BEM can be natural or mixed according to the nature of the working variables used in the two methods. With the help of Whitney elements, the two methods are easily coupled without the difficulty of the interface continuity. Solution of an eddy current problem by two dual coupled methods is reported. 1 Introduction The boundary element method is one of the most frequently used method in three dimensional electromagnetic field analysis owing to its capability of taking into ac
