Abstract
Optimization problems generally require several field analysis on successive shapes until the best one is obtained. A large linear system of equations is then to be formed and solved at each step that is time consuming. In this paper, a new method based upon transmission line modelling is proposed for reducing the computational efforts when using BEM. It consists in forming and factori- ng a unique set of equations for all the successive problems, the change in the geometry is taken into account in the right-hand side of this system. 1 Introduction Shape optimization generally consists in executing successive field analysis on an evolving geometry until an optimized configuration is reached in agreement with some given constraints. Efficient optimization algorithms are developed for speed-up purpose
