Abstract
A mathematical model based on the integral representations is presented to incorporate local three-dimensional flow patterns into the standard 2-D Boundary Element Method (BEM). The flow may be generated in a shallow aquifer by components of a groundwater supply/recharge-system (GWSRS) such as partially or fully penetrating wells, wells with laterals, infiltration tunnels, partially penetrating ditches etc. The flow-domain can be limited by a closed boundary including parts with local three-dimensional effects as well (partially penetrating boundary PPB).
