Abstract
A boundary/interior element method is proposed in order to address elastic-plastic-damage analysis problems in solid mechanics. The method uses fundamental solutions related to the undamaged virgin material and provides the actual response to the load increment in any step analysis by an iterative procedure which can be incorporated in a predictor/corrector computational scheme as for numerical plasticity. An internal variable constitutive model endowed with elastic and no-damage surfaces and obey- ing the normality rule is adopted. 1 Introduction The boundary element method (BEM) is deeply rooted on the material elastic behaviour and on the consequent possibility of constructing the so-called fundamental solutions. These are Green-type functions which specify
