Reading^ "N219 Division of Computing, Coventry University, Priory Street, Coventry, UK ^Lumonics Ltd, Cosford Lane, Rugby, UK ABSTRACT Software Quality Assurance is an umbrella activity which covers all aspects of the software lifecycle. This paper discusses the development of a Software Quality Assurance Plan, appropriate to the development of an automated laser test system. This plan is derived from the IEEE standards for software Quality Assurance. The need to coherently integrate quality functions into the product lifecycle is discussed, along with the merits of an unorthodox hybrid systems analysis technique designed to encourage customer involvement.
