Within the UK, the production for the Department of Trade and Industry of the TickIT Guide to Software Quality Management System Construction and Certification using EN 29001 and the following TickIT initiative may be seen as a watershed. In the paper a perspective of the past (the pre TickIT years) and present (the post TickIT years) are presented.
