Abstract
An expert system for fault tree analysis J.A. Bogarin Geymayr & N.F. An object oriented expert system application was developed with the NEXPERT OBJECT environment to perform the different stages of the analysis. Fault tree construction and simplification ,minimal cut set determination and, common cause analysis are described under such methodology. INTRODUCTION Fault Tree analysis is one of the most widely used methods for system reliability analysis. It is a formal deductive procedure for determining the various combinations of component failures and human error
