Abstract
A procedure is presented, which provides upper and lower bounds for solu- tion quantities, either global or local, for inequality problems of structural elastostatics, when second-order geometric effects are taken into account. 1 Introduction Upper and lower solution bounds can be used either to check the numerical results or to predict an interval of values for a solution quantity in prac- tical engineering problems, which in most cases can be solved numerically only.
