Abstract
A simple method for friction modelling in the simulation using the Finite Element Method for the forging process of axisymmetric components is presented. A brief description of the flow method is given, as well as a short explanation of the tangential forces method. As an alternative, the so called SMM (Stiffness Matrix Method) is presented and numerical results are compared with previous published works. 1 Introduction Since 1973, different researchers and working groups have been investigating the simulation using FEM for the metallic deformation.
