Abstract
A rolling contact fatigue model, the algorithm of fatigue crack path construction in a semi-infinite elastic isotropic plate being the key element of this model, has been proposed. Step-by-step calculation of the path and stress intensity factors (SIFs) along it are carried out on the basis of the singular integral equations method by using characteristics of cyclic crack extension resis- tance of material. As an example, the case of the edge crack propagation in a plate by normal opening (mode I) or transverse shear (mode II) mechanism, when contact forces under rolling are simulated by the concentrated force, is numerically studied. 1 Introduction Since in most cases the working life of a rolling pair is exhausted du
