Abstract
The problem of high speed tube drawing with floating plug , using a viscoplastic constitutive equation of Bingham type, is solved based on a global Coulomb friction condition on the die and on the plug surfaces. The drawing force and the shape of the floating plug are determined as functions of the die and the plug angles, friction coefficients, reduction in area , the Bingham and the Reynolds numbers. Several numerical examples are given. 1 Introduction In the mechanics of metal forming processes - particularly in tube drawing with floating plug - it is often required to determine the load on the machine tool that deforms the material into a new shape and the optimal conditions for the process. Since no exact solutions are available fo
