Abstract
Investigating the effect of damage function on probabilistic crack growth model C.T. Liu" J.N. Yang* " Phillips Laboratory, Edwards AFB, California 93524-7160, Department of Civil Engineering, University of California, Irvine, California 92717, USA ABSTRACT In this study, the effect of damage function on the probabilistic crack growth was investigated. For the damage functions considered, a power law relationship exists between the crack growth rate and the Mode I stress intensity factor. A parametric study was conducted to investigate the effect of varying crack growth model parameters on crack growth rate. The results of the analysis are discussed. INTRODUCTION During the past year, considerable work has been done in studying crack growth behavior in highly filled polymeric materials which consist of hard particles embedded in rubber matrix. Many papers(^~^) were published concerning crack growth behavior as well as the relationship between the crack growth rate,
