Abstract
In order to develop the anti-abrasive duct elbows for conveying high-velocity particle-laden gas, which are typically equipped in coal-burned power plants, the characteristic of flow fields in duct elbow has been studied numerically. Especially, we have tried to form the vortex flow field in the region where the flow changes its direction, using 90" duct elbow. The governing equations for three-dimensional, turbulent flow fields are discretized by FVM and solved by SIMPLE algorithm. Also, the simulation of solid-gas flows has been conducted. 1 Introduction Simulations of particle-laden gas flows can be done by using either a Lagrangian or Eulerian description for the solid phase. A Eulerian description typically based on a volume-averaged continuum formulation, is used to model the fluid phase. Both approaches have been studied extensiv
