Although enormous strides have been made in the understanding, modelling and numerical simulation of multiphase flows, it is clear that much still remains to be done. It seems unlikely that an all-encompassing theory will be found, but more probable that one or more techniques will be matched to a system or phenomenon of interest that is able to capture the essential physics under a range of conditions.
This book, which comprises most of the papers presented at the Second International Conference on Multiphase Flow, aims to inspire a generation of new ideas by exposing researchers and practitioners in the field to new techniques, problems and paradigms.
The forty contributions included cover: Multiphase Flow Systems; Multiphase Flow and Heat Transfer; Particle-Flow Interaction; Suspensions - Experiment and Theory; Continuum Suspension Models; Interface Phenomena; Bubble and Drop Dynamics; Bubble Flows; and Cavitation.
