Abstract
This paper describes for fundamental relationship between tip thickness of crushed cutter and thickness of wedged sheet. Aluminum sheet A1050P was used for specimen, while the cutter made by a tool steel, hardened at the edge, was modified by filing so as to simulate the crushed edge. By varying the tip thickness of cutter, the indentation resistance of cutter and the sheared profile were investigated experimentally. Frictional conditions between the wedged sheet and the counter plate beneath were selected as lubricated and non-lubricated. For discussing the deformation mechanism.
