Abstract
The aim of this work is to present a numerical analysis of the transition to turbulence for an open, incompressible and Newtonian fluid, flowing in a wavy channel with the particular hypothesis of a developing regime, and its influence in the heat transfer process. In order to define numerically a critical value for this flow regime, we analyze the temporary evolution of the temperature and radial velocity on the main axis. Then, numerical results are optimized by means of a thorough analysis of the different parameters introduced in the numerical code. Our results have shown the existence of a critical value towards turbulence for a Reynolds number equals to 600 for which, some results concerning the heat transfer associated are described.
