Ultra precision machining on a CNC diamond turning machine J. Lamb Precision Engineering Laboratory, A WE Aldermaston, United Kingdom Abstract This paper describes the features and operation of the Diamond Turning Facility at AWE Aldermaston. Examples are given of some of the sophisticated sub- systems and constructional features of the machine along with the back-up equipment needed to run a facility of this type.
