Lauria* & D Villacci* ' Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Naples, Italy ^ Faculty of Engineering, Universita del Sannio, Italy Abstract In this paper, a method is presented in order to determine the boundary of the asymptotic attraction region of electric power systems. The procedure is based upon the trajectory reversing method by a numerical backward integration and an optimization algorithm in order to approximate closed surfaces approaching the required boundary. This procedure seems to be very attractive, allowing one to overcome the difficulties of the computational burden deriving from the symbolic methods application.
