Abstract
Within the framework of the flow comprehension in fractured rock matrix, both numerical simulations and experimental investigations are carried out on models of single radial geometry fracture. The experimental device allows studying divergent confined radial flows between two parallel disks representing the physical model of fracture. The surface of the lower disk is smooth while that of the higher can involve a two-dimensional model of roughness. The model of roughness is represented by annular, concentric cavities with a square section. Measurements of the velocity field are carried out by 1 D laser Doppler veloci- metry. The simulations are performed using an industrial package, CFD-ACE, based on finite volume method. The com
