Abstract
The DSC model proposed by Prof. Desai from Tucson, AZ USA, consists of two stages of material properties due to the different values of external load. The first one covers plastic behavior while in the second one the localized damage is involved. This material behavior is determined from laboratory experiments. Since in natural conditions a slight deviation may be expected, the improvement of this behavior can be solved by additional eigenparameters stated from the TFA (transformation field analysis. The TFA can be considered in both cases of the DSC, i.e. the localized damaged state may also be involved. Particularly in geotechnical engineering one meets the problems of the stability of tunnel face. The classical numerical methods (the BEM, the FEM) fail because of "too stiff' behavior of the approximati
