Abstract
The synchronous generator is one of the most important components of a Power Plant. Then, it is necessary to be able to predict its dynamic or transient behaviour when it is submitted to any disturbance, such as: a sudden short circuit, load rejection, loss of excitation, etc. in order to evaluate the stability of the generator operating in a power system, synthesize the control algorithms for automatic voltage regulators, protect adequately the generator and to detect incipient faults.
