Abstract
This paper presents a FEM approach for the one-step numerical evaluation of the potential and of the integral currents in low-frequency magnetic field problems relevant to electrical devices having whatever topological connection of the windings. A analytical model is deduced and a FEM discretisation method is applied, leading to a unsymmetrical algebraic system of equations where the unknowns are the vector potential in the interpolatory nodes and the total measurable currents in the conducting regions.
