Abstract
Emission inventory for fine dust in Flanders (Belgium) L. Schrooten, H. Van Rompaey & I. De Vlieger Integral environmental studies, Vito (Flemish Institute for Technological Research), Belgium. Abstract There is a growing international concern for emissions of total suspended particles (TSP), PMla and PM2,5. Therefore, by order of the VMM (Flemish Environmental Agency), an emission-inventory for Flanders (Belgium) has been made for these pollutants for the years 1995 and 2000. This was done on the basis of data from annual environmental reports from individual companies, specific measurements, emission factors fiom the literature, output figures, consumptions of fuel, statistics, . . . The results show that for TSP and PMlo the emissions from road and land abrasion (primarily in the agriculture) dominate. The exhaust emissions fiom traffic and the emissions from the industry become more important for the fraction PMlo. This contribution increases even more for the fraction PMZ,S because the e
