Abstract
Air pollution modeling surrounding Serdang Power Station Z. Zardi, A.A. Rahrnan & M.I. Aman TNB Research Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia Abstract In this study, the level of NO, and SO2 concentrations in the surrounding areas of Serdang Power Station have been calculated using ISCST3 dispersion model. The 256 grids defined in area of 22km x 22km are accepted as receptor grids and the contribution of emission ffom the existing Serdang Power Station has been used as an input data. The maximum 1-hr averaging ground level concentration of NOx and SO2 predicted by the model are 134.17 &m3 and 159.31 pg/m3 at distance of 1.5 km southeast of the plant. However, these levels are well within the Malaysian Ambient Air Quality Standards 1990 and the World Health Organisation (WHO) Guidelines 1999. The model was validated by comparing the model output and actual field measurement with 95% of the accumulative frequency distribution by a factor of less than 2. Results of the study revealed that the air pollution disper
