Abstract
Oxygen/mixers system restores the quality of water body H. Gladki, W. Styka & A. Satypka Department of Environmental Engineering, Cracow University of Technology, Poland. Abstract This presentation shows the examples, which confirm the importance of using agitators in the small or large-scale water body, to improve water quality in terms of the oxygen content. Especially, the submersible type of agitators is demonstrated, which is able to transfer the motion energy at a distance and to a wide mass of water. The examples, showed in the paper, relate to submersible mixers and agitatorslaerators that have been used in natural water bodies (small ponds, large ponds and river), as well as in ponds and lagoons contaminated with industrial wastewater discharge (power plant blowdown, petrochemical waste lagoons). Introduction For a long time the industrial society has been aware that the growing amount of pollutants has disturbed the ecological balance, which exists in natural bodies of water. The q
