Nocera Applied Physics Group-DIIM, Catania University, Italy Abstract Building construction costs are regularly said to be the biggest obstacle to ecofriendly design. It is common opinion that eco designed buildings are more expensive than conventionally constructed ones. Our personal observation is that 'certain' kinds of design are at least as expensive as a normal construction.
