Abstract
DSIRR: a decision support system for irrigation and water policy design G. M. ~azzani' & C. DSIRR can operate at catchment or farm level simulating farmer's decision processes. The DSS permits one to analytically quantify the utilisation of water, labour and machinery, considering different types of soils, irrigation systems and seasonality. It runs under Windows with its own user-friendly interface. Solutions are found applying multicriterial mathematical programming techniques. Richness of information produced, flexibility and simplicity of use make DSIRR a powerful tool for a more sustainable agriculture and a sound irrigation policy and practise. 1 Introduction Water demand
