Abstract
Oil leakage simulation from compressed remote sensing satellite SAR and infra-red images R. Cerdan 1. Introduction: The purpose of this paper is to show an environmental research application of the image ultracompactification technique. This technique is briefly described in the introductory section of the paper, focusing on synthetic-aperture radar image compression. Thereafter, it is explained how a model of oil leakage diffusion can be constructed that allows the environmental researcher to perform preliminary analyses on neutralization strategies. 2. Image Ultracompactification Technique The image ultracompactification technique allows to reduce data size needed to both store and retrieve digitalized images by the use of an Ising-spin multineural network in which a supermanifold-type basin of attraction is defined (see Cerdan [1]). The technique is based on iterative function systems or IPS, which form a subclass within the generic fractal functions. The advan
