Abstract

In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the use of computers for solving environmental problems. The focus has been mostly on the mathematical mod elmg of physical, chemical, and biological phenomena and much less attention has been paid to the critical issue of properly supporting environmental decision- making processes. These processes generally require the multi-disciplinary anal- ysis and synthesis of large amounts of diversified information.
